The Elementalist class is an entirely new class based on the Elementalist from the popular MMO Guild Wars 2 and its expansions. It uses similar mechanics to that of the Mystic Class. Elementalists. Even variations of existing races would feel fresh enough to revitalize things as a new race (dark elves and light elves in other games etc). But honestly, with this expansion, we did not even get new character customization options so the idea of a new race/class seems further than ever.
new races and classes speculation. for the races we only chatches two the dwarfs and the tengu, maybe the new classes can be race related, dwarfs becouse we see they are still here and whit dragon gone, theyr "rock state" can reverse if they are in nord areas it also will be interesting whit norns returning in theyr original lands.
Race is flavor only, changing some parts of the story and dialogues. Most racial skills are useless, and this is by design. Some racial skills are useful at endgame, because the good skills were nerfed, but it should change soon. You can create a good thief with any race you want, so no worries. Have fun :D.

Thematically, Ranger works well for Norn, Sylvari, Human, and Charr. Asura are the most unusual choice for a Ranger, which for some might make them the perfect choice. Personally, I’m more concerned with how the character looks in armor. The trench coat look seems inappropriate for a Ranger class, so that leaves us with very few options to
