If it has 4 USB ports in the front, and the disc slot is a chrome trim, then it is backwards compatible. I think the 20 GB model is backwards compatible too (it has a lot of black trim on it), but it has no Wi-Fi. Me personally though, I think the best PS3 to own is the non-backwards compatible fat models or the slims.
